Welcome to The Romance Voice!
I’m a day late with the newsletter. But yesterday was reserved for watching the news and President Biden's inauguration. Did you feel Amanda Gorman’s poem as much as I did?
I cry every time I listen to it. Words are powerful. And beautiful.
I hope you enjoy this week’s newsletter issue.
Keep safe & stay healthy! ❤️

Debut Release
As much as I like discovering an author with a backlist (instant bingeabilty for the win), there is just something special about coming across an announcement for a debut release.
Vorfreude
Love hearing about new books? So do I. Here are the announcements that caught my eye:
Montlake bought the first two books in Naima Simone’s Burned Inc series. MORE
Mona Shroff’s book about a divorced couple faking a relationship will be published by Harlequin Special Edition. MORE
Alexis Hall has confirmed that the first book in his queer historical romance duology will be released later this year. MORE
#TwitterMadeMeReadIt
I read Whiteout by Adriana Anders. I bought the book because of its setting. It’s not often I see a romance set in Antarctica. And yet the e-book languished on my reader for months. So glad the title got nominated for The Swoon Awards and put it back on my radar. I’m sure the second book in the series won’t suffer the same fate. So need to find out what happens next.
Newly Added
The latest romance novels I’ve added to my Want to Read list on Goodreads are:
The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
It’s a debut release with an irresistible tagline:
When a fake relationship between scientists meets the irresistible force of attraction, it throws one woman's carefully calculated theories on love into chaos.
Not Your Average Hot Guy by Gwenda Bond
A new-to-me author. And the book’s description is using all the right words: escape room, Satanic cult, handsome demon in a leather jacket, apocalypse. I’m sold!
First Time
I read The Roommate by Rosie Danan. The roommate trope! It’s a favorite. And it’s a debut release. First I wasn’t sure about the adult entertainment plot, but it worked. Loved the chemistry between the two main characters. So hot, and cute, and funny. One of my favorite characters in this book was the hero’s ex. I’m thrilled that her story, The Intimacy Experiment, is out soon (April 2021).
Favorite Cover
The Companion by E.E. Ottoman | Cover artist: Viv Tanner
